We can’t wait to welcome the community to a premier Christmas village and holiday experience.
“Falconwood Park has always been about creating memories—whether through weddings, concerts, or festivals, Quinceañeras and even corporate events” says Brandon Miller, owner of Falconwood Park. Over the last couple of years we have received numerous comments like, “wow, it’s like your own little town or village out here,” referring to the way the property lays out with winding roads, buildings, cabins and houses that open up in the center to a village square. “With Frosty Nights, we’re excited to offer Omaha a fully interactive Christmas village, where families can start a new holiday tradition.”
The inspiration for Falconwood Frosty Nights grew from Miller’s vision to provide the community with more interactive Christmas experiences beyond your typical and often found drive-through holiday lights. Miller also took note of the fact that Halloween is such a big deal in the Omaha area with several, very successful pumpkin patches and numerous popular haunted houses but, “once we hit Christmas it seems like the most popular things to do are Christmas drive throughs or driving around looking at neighborhood Christmas lights but there aren’t as many interactive opportunities to get out and spend time as a family immersed in the holiday.” says Miller.
With the expansion of Falconwood Park onto the former 200-acre Gene Eppley Salvation Army Camp property in recent years and upgrades to facilities like Hanke Hall, the dream of building a true winter village became reality. Hanke Hall, the main venue for this event, never had been heated or open during the winter months and needed to test out its new HVAC system to make sure it could survive a Nebraska winter. “With last year’s 20 degree below temps as a successful test, we are good to go for this upcoming winter,” says Miller.
Tyler Owen, co-owner of Outlandia Music Festival that was previously held at Falconwood Park through 2024, is a partner in the project. Owen came to appreciate how special the property is while producing the festival at the park and when Miller mentioned the idea of a Christmas Village at the Outlandia wrap-up meeting, Owen jumped right on board – he and his family have visited Christmas Markets all over the world and he thought it would be a phenomenal idea to bring something like this to the Omaha area.
Falconwood Park is going big this holiday season—really big. “This year, we’re pulling out all the stops. Think sleigh-loads of lights, larger-than-life décor, and holiday magic around every corner. Our goal is to create an experience that brings joy, wonder, and a jolly good time for all that attend.” says Brandon Miller.
The first shipment of decorations was so massive it required two extra storage units, with even more on the way. When Miller went to pick up the first order with his Grounds Manager, Jon McAtee, McAtee commented that this first order was double the size they stored to decorate 40 homes at a previous job.
To bring the magic to life, Falconwood Park has teamed up with Mike Marlow of Lights for Christmas and Blingle to design and install a display filled with enough sparkle to rival Santa’s workshop. Additionally, according to Miller, another plus of bringing this event to the area is the opportunity to support a lot of local businesses. Providing the opportunity for makers, artisans and other small businesses, food trucks, too, to set up and open a shop for the Christmas season so to stay booked at a time when they maybe aren’t traditionally as busy.
“We’ve brought Omaha ‘firsts’ before—like reviving drive-in movies,” Miller says. “Now, we can’t wait to welcome the community to a premier Christmas village and experience. And what we have planned for this year is just a start – we are planning to add more and bigger attractions for year two and beyond. And we still have some surprises to roll out later this year so stay tuned.
Falconwood Frosty Nights - Christmas Village & Lights will be open for private event rentals and corporate holiday events January 2nd thru January 30th.
Falconwood Park is still welcoming sponsors and accepting vendors, email or call 402-210-4747.
